Crabapple Blossoms

They just exploded today. I've never seen them so pink. We are back to very warm weather, and expecting a storm. The mini gardens are hanging on; hope they keep it up. I am nursing a poinsetta on the porch as well. I just can't give up on a plant, I guess.

Lots of studies about animals and water rights; studying excerpts from Silent Spring, still a classic, though in her time, she was considered somewhat of an ecoterrorist. One wonders, though, how much this had to do with creating or encouraging West Nile Virus.

A friend told me that true organic tomatoes are big and purple, not red. There are whole societies in the US that feature these antique, organic seeds. Would love to plant some. Still trying to reseed pumpkins, including some gorgeus Cinderella varieties. I love even how the husks dry and hollow themselves all winter.

Dying for a Burpee catalog, for the sake of ordering Black Velvet petunias. Carrying garden tools in my car; hope springs eternal!
